So... we went to st paul's today to check out their nicu, since at rounds today the doctors agreed they were going to start the process of her transfer. I understand it is a space issue and Ellie is definitely not as sick as the other babies in the nicu. But, st pauls nicu is full. They have 9 beds and the nurse we talked to said they are so understaffed they aren't taking new patients. Fantastic... it is really a good idea to tell the parents of a child that is probably going to be transfered to your unit that there isn't enough staff.
To say this stresses me, is an understatement. Plus, it is 20 a day to park, and the bus takes 35 minutes. Sigh... I wish she could just stay at Childrens.
