Confusing Seasons

Yesterday started off great. We had a quiet morning, then went to Centennial Beach to spend the afternoon letting Jakob run around the amazing play structure, put Ellie on the swings, and enjoy ourselves. We had a great time, Ellie LOVED the big chair swing, especially when I sat with her and pushed us as high as we could go. The joy in her laughter was infectious! Then, we headed down to the beach, to introduce her to the ocean for the first time. She doesn't like sand. She also didn't think much of the wind, which was nippy, or the water. I noticed relatively quickly that her breathing was becoming laboured, and she seemed distressed, so we hurried out of there. She sounded a bit wheezy, and had a really congested nose, but we decided to wait it out to see if she improved. Her breathing settled, but overnight her temperature slowly started to climb. The nurse noted an increase in her baseline heart rate (normally, while sleeping she sits around 90-100bpm) to 130bpm. When DH traded off this morning, her temp was 36.5 (normally 35.3C). Shortly thereafter, she started ringing off her heart rate alarm, at 188bpm. He brought her up to me, and I checked her temp, 37.9C. In "normal" kids, that wouldn't be anything, but in Ellie it is pretty serious. So, hospital bound this morning! We are just getting our house ready for a day of showings, and I'll be off. Will keep you posted. P.S. doesn't this girl realize it's almost SUMMER, not winter, and definitely NOT time to be admitted to hospital?!
